Top 10 Alternatives to therapy
We live a world wherein therapy is being normalised more and more
I’ve had countless individuals casually open up about their therapy experiences, and I truly believe it’s fantastic to embrace self-improvement.
In my own personal journey, I’ve come to realize that for most everyday challenges, therapy might not be the necessary solution.
Instead, all you really need is to attune yourself to the symphony of life and harmonize with the frequencies it offers
Bonus: It’s cheaper than therapy and more long lasting
Becoming Self Aware
Knowing yourself is a journey, you will change, evolve and surprise yourself by how you react to life, situations and people
Knowing what triggers you, turns you on, gives you faith and what scared you away will go a long way.
Spend time knowing yourself which culminates to my second point
Spend time alone
There is a huge difference between alone-ness and loneliness (i’ve been on both ends personally)
Don’t jump from relationships, friends and hang out with people to share and fill space
learn to tune into silence, it will teach you more than anyone can
In this silence you will learn your true yearnings, don’t ignore that
It will be your guide, your mentor and life you up!
Meditation
Without a doubt meditation has become a modern form to inculcate as a daily practise.
When you meditate you cloud away the external and internal noise and just exist
Pure existence cleanses you, beyond what you can think
start with 5mins let the clatter clatter, slowly eventually it will simmer and you’ll emerge calmer, happier and more grateful for life
Journaling
When you let your thoughts flow, emotions and thoughts you didn’t know existed come through
you become clearer, lighter and deeper all by yourself!
Spending time in Nature
We are part of nature, our modern societies have distanced us from it
learn to listen to the whispers of trees, the crashing of waves or the chirping of birds
in them you’ll see the love that you never knew existed
or cuddle a dear, a rabbit and see the innocence and oneness that exists in them
on to more practical ones
Sports
Every challenge that I went through over the years, sport was always my saviour
When you play a sport you release the stress cortisol and get the right drive to excel and not give up or give in to signs that maybe cripple you
the dementors won’t get you if you become happy, sports makes you happy it’s a form of drive and movement combined
Learning a new skill
It’s never to late to learn, I started surfing at 30 and it’s been a gamechanger, I’ve seen it drift away all my negativity and seem like my life challenges are futile
start somewhere and you’ll end up somewhere beautiful
Decluttering your space
Your space can reflect your mind, too organised can relate to a control freak in you but striking that healthy balance it’s a must
you have five senses your eyes, smell and touch elements are happiest to see things in their right space
There is a reason why you feel negative around trash and happy at a hotel
Movement
move your body, release your emotions
We tend to stagnate energy in specifc spaces of our body the more we move it’s as if we’re shaking that energy away not letting it fester in our body
Yoga
Yoga — union of mind, body and soul is the ultimate practise one can do
at a level of masses it supports with nervous system regulation, enhanced calmness, lifted attention, patience and more
Yoga can be miraculous if you let it and stay consistent
Gratitude
What gratitude does is shift our perspectives from worries, fear low vibes towards what is working for us
that instant shift leads us to become happier, better versions of ourselves which in turn optimises our life choices and creates a flow of abundance
And honestly my last tips is this “every body, person or being is different find your own unique rhythm and flow with it”
Maybe dancing, chanting, singing, talking, art or something else will aid in your release find your jam, save your wallet and create a lifetime of joy
I’m here cheering you on!
